Alright, my title might be a little dramatic; this isn’t The Bachelor. I only mean it a little bit. You see this has been a weird year. Let me explain.
I’ll start a year ago when I met Prince Charming (you can read all about that magical moment here). Anyone who’s been around long enough will know that a dashing young gentleman rescued Snow White’s phone on the carousel at Magic Kingdom. He was my Knight in shining armour (or at least had potential to be)… and then I was my awkward self and ended up never seeing him again. February 13, 2015, the day I did not talk to Prince Charming. Kris & KG will never let me live it down.

oh Prince Charming, things could have been so different if I had spoken to you
Since then things have been weird. I’ve had a number of suitors this past year, or more accurately, a number of potential suitors I turned away. And what amazes me the most is that this keeps happening. Why?!?! It’s almost hilarious at this point. Sometimes I feel like I’m living in Tudor times. It’s like I’m at a Ball being held in my honor and I keep turning the men away at the door.
There have been six potential suitors. Some of these I dealt with better than others. Some of these I ignored for months. Some of these I wanted to work out more than others. Some of these I have moments where I’m still second-guessing. And at least one of these the jury is still out on. There were the friends who are perfectly respectable choices, just maybe not my Prince Charming. There were those who admired me, just no longer wanting to from afar. And there were those with potential who left.
This year has been interesting but I haven’t given up. It’s been a year since I met Prince Charming. I’m still that girl who rode the carousel last February. I didn’t find the Prince Charming I searched the Internet for and I have yet to find a replacement back home, but I haven’t given up. I’m still choosing to believe my Prince is out there. Call me naive and a hopeless romantic, but I still have faith. 2016 we can do this!
Happy (early) Valentine’s Day! I’ll be celebrating on Sunday with my best girlfriends (and drinking wine!)
Thanks for reading!
