Hello and welcome back to another Fangirl recaps Agents of SHIELD 3×20! There are REALLY BIG SPOILERS for this episode. Do NOT read unless you’ve watched!
This week was an intense episode. So many things happened that it’s quite difficult to pick my top 5.
Ok, I’m not picking the dynamic between Hive and Daisy because I think it’s cool. I’m picking this because of how absolutely MESSED up it was and how WELL Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet delivered. Hive is quite literally, a parasite. He was willing to sacrifice Daisy in order to create an army with her blood. And even though Daisy knew deep down that it was wrong, she couldn’t prevent herself from wanting to help him. Seeing Daisy so weak and fragile was heartbreaking. And props to the makeup department. Just wow. I’m curious to see tomorrow’s episode and how her behaviour has altered since the sway. The cast has been teasing that Daisy will act like a recovering drug addict, missing the high of Hive’s sway. Prepare for some messed up TV. I have to say, The Hive/Daisy interaction last week had to have been some of the most bone chilling scenes this show has ever produced. I’m actually terrified of Hive.
It’s no secret that Lincoln has never been my favourite character on SHIELD. But now? Now I LOVE him. Between last episode of him compromising his entire immune system to save Daisy, and this episode with his “escape”, he’s quickly gone from a character that I was meh about, to a character I really enjoy watching. Now that Lincoln has finally been given a back story and a purpose, we’re seeing his passion and power finally come through. Lincoln has really become a nicely developed character throughout this season and I hope we get to learn more about him. But I’m actually quite worried that something will happen to him during tomorrow’s finale. And I really hope it doesn’t, he has so much more potential. The whole escape with Lash on the QuinJet instead of Lincoln was an awesome fake out I didn’t see coming!
Ok, that hurt. That really hurt. A couple episodes ago, Andrew had finally made his final descent to Lash and the Andrew we had grown to love was gone. May was heartbroken, unable to do anything for him, only able to watch as the monster raged on. This episode though, when Lash surprised us all and started attacking Hive, I thought perhaps for a second that he’d be ok. He gave Hive a hard time, and Hive even had an “oh crap” moment when Lash injured him. What really surprised me though, was that Lash possessed the power to release Daisy of Hive’s sway. Then we realized that his mission all along wasn’t to kill Hive, but to save Daisy instead. I cried when he was killed by Hellfire. Because for a few minutes, we didn’t see the monster Lash, we saw Andrew. And when Daisy held his hand as he died…I cried even harder. RIP Andrew. You will be missed.
I feel so bad for May
4) General Talbot
Ok there Talbot, you’re in waaaayyyy over your head.
Really though, it’s time Tablot found out about everything going on and the absolute destruction that Hive is planning. After figuring out that Hive has a warhead to deliver the new terrigen mist, we should all be really, really scared. Hive basically plans on turning the human race into primitive, swayed Inhumans. But now that Talbot is on board, it should be easier to get reinforcements. But really, I’m not sure how they’re going to kill Hive. I have absolutely no idea. They shot a stinking rocket at him and he healed within seconds.
5) Who will die?
The marketing team for SHIELD has been hyping up that someone will die for quite some time now, and they seem to be pointing to the original team. Who will it be? No one knows for sure, but it’s going to be a messy episode for sure. My money is on May. For some reason, I can’t shake the feeling that she will be the one to die. I obviously hope that none of team SHIELD bites the dust, but it’s a Whedon show….
- I don’t think it’s either of FitzSimmons. I think doing that would be a major, MAJOR mistake, as half the fandom are FitzSimmons shippers. I think it would take a huge chunk out of their viewership. And considering both Fitz and Simmons have been in mortal peril for the last two season finale’s, I think they might be ok this time.
- I don’t think Hive (or Ward) is going anywhere this Season, I think he’ll be back season 4.
- Which leaves Coulson, May, and Daisy.
- They could technically kill Coulson….but he IS SHIELD…so I don’t think that would happen.
- Daisy is running the Secret Warriors…
- So that leaves May….let’s hope I’m wrong.
- Also, I LOVE Yo-yo, Mack, Lincoln, and Joey, so let’s leave them alone, k?! Thanks!
Let’s hope it’s all just a red herring and they’ll all live happily ever after!!
Tomorrow’s finale is a two-parter, guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and jump out of your seat. Have tissues at the ready! See ya’ll on the other side.
Ciao for now,
