One of the weird things about cosplay (other than being a grown adult in costume in public) is how attached you get to your character. I will admit, before dressing as Sansa Stark I thought she was annoying and stupid. Then I stepped into her skin (or, more accurately, her Season 1 baby-pink dress) and I saw another side of her; the side desperately trying to hold on to a shred of optimism in an oppressively bleak world. While sweet, innocent, and horribly naïve pink-dress Sansa wasn’t at all my typical choice, I enjoyed acting the part. I became so attached to this fictional girl that when the time came to start on a new cosplay project I wanted to continue to be her. Lucky for me there was new iteration of the character that involved wearing black, decorating in feathers, and smirking in photos (so much more in my comfort-zone)!
This leads to the Edmonton Expo 2015 edition of our Game of Thrones cosplay. We’ve played these characters before, but for 2 out of 3 of our team this time we played our parts in brand new outfits! Check out the gallery below for photos of us with some of our favorite fellow GOT cosplayers:
KG as Daenerys Targaryen
