Welcome back to another Fangirl Recaps! Today I’ll be reviewing my 5 Favourites of Agent Carter episodes 2×06/ 2×07.
HUGE SPOILERS BELOW. You have been warned.
If last weeks episode was meant to be the comedic relief, this week’s was surely was meant to be the dramatic one! Lots of intense moments happened that opened up some interesting scenarios for our loveable (and not so loveable) characters!! Here are my 5 favourites:
1) Jarvis and Dottie moments
The Dottie we all know and love to hate is back this week! And as much as her character absolutely ANNOYS ME TO NO END, I truly enjoyed the dynamic she had with Jarvis. Pairing an intense, totally unapologetic character such as Dottie, with a kind and gentle soul such as Jarvis makes for great TV. Their back and forth banter (they actually had INSANE chemistry) and dance all while undercover was perfection. I would like more Jarvis/Dottie scenes, but now that she escaped….we’ll probably never see her again.
2) Peggs and Sousa
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE these two. Peggy and Sousa are wonderful for each other. Sousa admires and respects her as an equal, and I think would make her incredibly happy. Sousa has had continuous confidence problems due to his injury and the stupidity of Jack Thompson, asshole extraordinaire. On more than one occasion, he’s felt less of a man than the rest of his counterparts (IT’S NOT TRUE SOUSA, WE LOVE YOU!!!) and unworthy of Peggy (Once again, Jack’s fault. Jerk). This episode however, Peggs is down for the count, as she got ACCIDENTALLY IMPALED last episode. It was refreshing to see her rely on others for a change. And because she took a minute to slow down, she was able to have a moment with Sousa, where he told her that Violet broke off the engagement because she thought Sousa was in love with Peggy. (WHICH IS SO, SO TRUE) They had a pretty intense staring contest and gazed at each other longingly for like 15 seconds and ALMOST KISSED but got interrupted like ALWAYS. Why Marvel, why?! I ship them so hard and hope that one day Sousa becomes Mr. Carter. I’d be down for that.
3) Dottie’s sass
The entire time Dottie was being held captive by Whitney was full of sass. The only effective type of torture against Dottie was something she had never experienced, Whitney’s touch of death! (ok that’s a bit dramatic, but that’s what it seems like!) Other than Whitney, while she was being interrogated, she had all the sass and never backed down from a threat. Being one of the first Black Widow’s, it’s really interesting to see Natasha Romanoff’s sort of ancestor. I’m curious to see what happened to Dottie. Will we see her again? We can only hope. Just please don’t kill anyone we love.
4) Peggy and Jarvis heart to heart
I’ve always loved the friendship that Peggs and Jarvis have. There’s not the slightest attraction between them, they always have each other’s backs, and they deeply care for one another. They also don’t tend to talk about feelings or emotions. Jarvis is shocked that Peggy doesn’t see her own romantic allure and the effect she has on the men interested in her. As sweet as always, Jarvis made a comment that really sticks out in my mind, “You underestimate your allure Ms. Carter. I’m not in the least surprised.” But she is. She’s truly shocked that two completely different men want to be with her and she doesn’t know how to handle it. It was a short moment, but one that sticks out in my memory. Peggs you’re AWESOME and don’t forget it!!!
5) Mrs. Jarvis
I’ve mentioned in previous recaps that I’ve always liked Mrs. Jarvis. She’s a smart, independent woman that can hold her own, which is why is was so horrifying that she got shot this episode by the PSYCHOTIC WHITNEY FROST. We don’t know her fate yet, but I’m guessing (AND HOPING. PLEASE MARVEL) that she’ll live. Throughout the course of this episode, she helped Jason build a containment pod for himself AND graciously cooked him a traditional Hungarian meal, what a woman! It’s also quite sad to admit that I knew something was going to happen to her. Be it the extra screen time, her reactions, or emotional responses, I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. And for the very first time, we saw Jarvis a complete and utter mess in the hospital. He’s normally a man that wouldn’t leave his home with a hair out of place, and he looked like he got hit by a truck. That truly speaks volumes about his love for Mrs. Jarvis.
Once again, Agent Carter delivered another fantastic double episode! Did you like it? Hate it? Please let me know and sound off below!
Ciao for now,
