Everyone in the Pretty Little Liars fandom, I have an announcement! I am officially caught up! In just over a month (literally, I started on June 19) I have watched 126 episodes of PLL. That may seem like a lot of episodes to watch in 32 days (it’s an average of 3.9 episodes a day!) but let me tell you, those 32 days also included an 11 day vacation where I averaged an episode a day. Which means there were multiple days where I watched more episodes than that… I know I did 12 episodes a day at least twice.
Now I’ve spent numerous hours catching up on all of the ‘Who is A/Charles?’ theories. It’s fascinating! Everyone has come up with some crazy ideas. I can’t wait to see what actually happens in a couple weeks.
I’ll admit, I am someone who probably watches Ezra more closely than most. He’s still probably my favourite character. We made it through that time they tried to convince me he was A. If we can get through that we can get through anything, right? Which also why I know Ezria will get their happily ever after in the end (OTP ♥). But then I have read a number of recent theories that think Ezra may still be involved in the A/Charles plot after all. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see, but back to what I was talking about….
I was so confused during the first episode of Season 5 when Ezra was planning a big event at the Brew and was suddenly hiring people? Wait, what?!? When did this happen??
Is this because you can no longer be a teacher in Rosewood but can’t leave the city? Is it because the writers just didn’t know what else to do with you? The student/teacher thing went on for 4 seasons and we probably needed something new. Plus with the season 5 break-up we needed a way for Ezra to still be in the show and interact with other characters. Why not make him the owner of the coffee shop everyone is always at?!
But logistically how did this happen? Did he just quit Rosewood High? Did he ever go back to teaching after he was shot? He was still teaching at that time, right? No, actually did he ever return to teaching after Aria found out about the book he was writing? I remember him taking some time off then, and the next thing I remember is Mona getting the students to sign a Get Better Soon card for him after New York. I’m now starting to think he never returned to Rosewood High.
And then, more importantly, how in the world did he afford this?? When he found out about Malcolm and learned how much everything was going to cost he panicked and looked various places for more money (which is how he returned to teaching). Yes his family is wealthy, but I highly doubt they played a role in this. They’re not exactly on the best terms. Owning a coffee shop in Rosewood can’t be cheap… where did he get the money?!
There are some interesting theories here that might answer that last point. Ezra’s family has money, and A seems to have an unlimited supply of it. Perhaps they’re connected? Perhaps somehow this is funding his business and keeping him central as well? It’s an interesting idea for sure. I love Ezra and having him part of the A team would be an excellent surprise, I just somehow don’t think my fangirl heart will be able to handle it.
Almost as much as I want to find out who Charles is, I want to understand both how and why Ezra now owns the Brew. It’s just one in a long line of questions I still have. Next on that list is definitely, did anyone else notice November of their senior year took place over TWO SEASONS? Or how about how Toby became a cop in FOUR DAYS? So many questions that I will probably never get answers to, but at least hopefully I find out who A is in two weeks.
Thanks for reading! Seriously, I can’t be the only mega Ezra fangirl. Please identify yourselves in the comments.
