This week we are taking part in a Five Fandom Friday Challenge through the Female Geek Bloggers group on Google+! This is the first time we’ve done it, but this topic was just too awesome to pass up: Fictional spin-offs we want created.
When Kris and I sat down to discuss this, we were able to name a handful right off the top of our heads, but we hit a wall for the last one. Kris contemplated whether we would want something about Once Upon A Time, and I said that obviously I want to know more about what is happening in Arendelle… but turns out that’s Frozen 2 and they’re making it. Next I decided I’d like a Dexter spin-off about Dexter at the end of the series… but Kris pointed out the fact that it probably wouldn’t be a spin-off. It’s still about Dexter. And the ever-desired more Firefly movement is looking for the sam thing…
Basically, the point here is that it took us a bit of time but I think we arrived at a list we are happy with! Check it out with my comments below:
Fictional Spin-Off #1: “An Ugly Little Truth” – Pretty Little Liars
Basically, I want to know exactly what on Earth A is doing throughout the whole Pretty Little Liars series. Ideally, this spin-off would re-tell the whole story, but from A’s point of view. This way we can link up all those weird scenes of A doing strange things and see where they all come into play. I also want to know many other things, a few of which are: 1) How does A have the time to stalk all of these girls at once while putting together and executing all of the evil plots? and 2) How does A finance all these little projects?
I have so many questions I think would be answered during this series! I fear the answers may not come otherwise…
Fictional Spin-Off #2: “The Long Alpacas” – Hart of Dixie
Have you ever watched Hart of Dixie? If so, you’re probably familiar with the kooky and loveable Tom & Wanda. If not, I highly recommend you go check this show out! Now!
I am just so, so curious about what goes on in Tom and Wanda’s everyday life, aside from the parts we were able to see on the show. This zany couple is always doing something ridiculous, whether getting engaged at a zombie proposal or married at a Lord of the Rings/Star Wars themed wedding (seriously, who does that?). Tom and Wanda own a goat and several alpacas, and they both hold multiple other jobs (Blue-ber Driver, Rammer Jammer Server, Volunteer Firefighter, Party Clown, Stop & Shop Clerk, Shampoo Girl). They are just a couple of little weirdos and I love them for it. I can only imagine the many adventures we just aren’t privy to in Hart of Dixie.
Fictional Spin-Off #3: “World Meets Best Friend” – Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World
I totally want a spin-off to be created about Shawn Hunter. But preferably current-day Shawn Hunter, in all his adult dreaminess. I want to know exactly what he does when he goes off on his photography adventures, and I just generally want more Shawn. He was my favourite part of Boy Meets World, and he’s my favourite part of Girl Meets World. Can’t go wrong with a whole show about him.
That being said, in a pinch I’d settle for a spin-off about Cory’s younger brother, Joshua.
Fictional Spin-Off #4: “An Icy Life” – Frozen
I’d love to see a spin-off created that explained to me exactly where Kristoff came from, and how he ended up being raised by trolls. I mean, I know Frozen shows him finding the trolls when Anna is being helped by them as a child, but just how did he end up hanging out alone in the cold with only a reindeer for a friend? How did he get involved in the ice trade? Is he an orphan? Did he run away from home? Is he a wildling?
So many questions.
Fictional Spin-Off #5: “The Killing List” – Game of Thrones
I would totally, 100% watch a show about Arya and the Hound continuing to traipse around Westeros killing people on Arya’s list. They made such a nice little team and I loved the camaraderie that sprung up between them. Plus, they can play some great characters while out on the road and they both have some mad fighting skills. They were just too much fun to watch.
What do you think about these shows? Would you watch? What fictional spin-offs would you like created? Let us know in the comments!
